3rd QRS Unit Placed In Service
Tue, Oct 31st, 2017 1:47:00 pm - Late last week, the department had a 3rd QRS unit (Duty Officer Vehicle)  licensed for use by the Emergency Health Services Federation (representing the PA DOH).    A QRS unit responds to medical emergencies and MVA's to start medical care if EMS hasn't arrived yet or assists EMS if they are already on scene.   The department already had 2 licensed QRS units (Rescue 79-1 and Rescue 79-2) and now this 3rd unit will give greater flexibility as the duty officer will be able to mark up as a QRS unit.     Special thanks to NorthWest EMS for a donation of EMS supplies to stock the unit.  Lastly thanks to QRS Captain Robers "Bob" Eppley and the department members who took time to assist in this project.
